✦ You are not alone ✦
Does this sound familiar?
So many parents feel exactly the same way. The worry is real — and so is the solution.
Your child seems nervous or anxious when you mention "big school"
You're not sure how to prepare them without adding pressure
Sleep is suffering and emotions are running high at home
You want to feel confident as a parent — not just hope for the best
You're worried about friendships and whether they'll fit in
The school gave you a list but you don't know where to actually start
You are not alone — and you don't have to figure this out by yourself.
✦ The approach ✦
Introducing the STAR approach
Four pillars that give parents a clear, gentle framework — no worksheets, no pressure, no one-size-fits-all approach.
Safe
Children learn and thrive when they feel emotionally secure. We help you build that foundation at home so school feels like a safe adventure, not an unknown.
Thoughtful
Small, intentional moments matter more than grand gestures. This guide shows you exactly what thoughtful preparation looks like in everyday family life.
Able
Your child already has everything they need inside them. We help you help them see it — building genuine confidence from the inside out.
Ready
Readiness isn't a checklist to tick off — it's a feeling. Together, we make sure your child steps through that school door feeling truly ready.

✦ About Laura ✦
Hi, I'm Laura
I'm an early years educator, deputy manager, and mum — and I've spent years sitting with families at exactly this moment: the one just before their child starts school.
I've seen what genuinely makes a difference. It isn't flashcards or practising writing names. It's connection, confidence, and calm preparation. The Star Approach is everything I'd tell a parent if I had the time to sit down with them properly.

Not at all. The guide includes strategies for right now, as well as resources you can return to throughout the first term and beyond. It is never too late to start.
Is this suitable for all children?
Yes. Whether your child is excited, anxious, or somewhere in between, the STAR approach meets them exactly where they are. It is particularly helpful for shy, sensitive, or summer-born children.
